A quick tutorial on how to make a realistic looking planet in Vue 6 - the "built-in" planets that come with Vue are nice for far-away shots and if you want to have a planet from our own solar system. However, if you want a more realistic or creative looking planet, here is a quick way to get one. This tutorial is meant for Vue users who have a general knowlege of using Vue and is not meant to go over basic Vue screen commands. Sorry about the low quality video, but hopefully the main points are there. Please visit my website: http://infiniteoasis.com

  • what about an earthlike or terraformed planet?

  • @spriter01 Hi, yes...in Vue you can make it any kind of planet you like. You load in your own textures or create some. They also have the regular planets of our solar system built-in, but those are more for background shots, not close-ups.

  • Nice tutorial, however planet texture is flat is it possible to import a texture. I'm a photoshoper so i have a lot of different textures i use for planets. Do they need to be in TGA format or will vue 6 accept JPEG too.

  • @TheBloodForged Hi, thanks. Yes, you can import JPG. However, you can also change the textures of the planet with the function editor in Vue to get many different results.
