An educational example of sound and music simulation in The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening using a VBA emulator and Cheat Engine.

All Gameboy Color games appear have unique music systems, but this particular game allows more control over such operations at hand.

Enable Full Screen Mode if you can't read the text.

A couple notes:
- The addresses of the values change every time the application itself is restarted; searching for the values each time is necessary.
- The music value ranges from 0 to 96. After the value is changed, the ROM automatically sets it back to 0 to prevent the song from persistantly replaying.
- Setting the Status value to 0 will either mute the music or result in an unwavering tone, depending on your timing.
- The Key value controls the pitch of the music. This value should only be set to even integers. Every 24th value represents a single range of frequencies. Keep in mind that this value is dynamic for certain songs.
- This isn't particularly useful, except for gaming advantages, except for just browsing through the game's compositions. Remember that not all values within the memory range control music or sound properties. Enjoy.
