visit http://www.outboard-boat.com/ for outboard motor troubleshooting and advice

How long to flush your outboard motor for and wether you should use the flush muffs or the flushing fitting on the motor.

Most people aren't flushing their motor for long enough and salt builds up in the cooling system which can be very bad for the outboard motor. Reducing the engine life.

  • Hey mate, me too! Definately applies. Need to get the motor nice and hot to get the thermostat open and flush out the head. Also store the motor tilted down so the water can drain out.

  • Hey man, nice vid. Live in Auckland. I have a 2006 40hp Mariner (tohatsu). do you think the 5-7 mins applies to smaller hp 2 strokes?

    Cheers
