http://www.inventables.com/technologies/hand-moldable-plastic This hand moldable plastic has a melting temperature of about 136-140°F (58-60°C). It is great for making one-off prototypes, quick attachments and sub-assemblies, impressions to use as a temporary mold, and more. Inventables sells it in our online innovator's hardware store.

  • This stuff looks great, is there something like this that is rubbery when it's cooled? Still strong but not so ridged?

  • @KristofskiKabuki Yea, try Sugru - you can find it on Inventables by using the search at the top of the page

  • The mold is made out of sculpey but I have also made one out of machinable wax that was cut on a Modela CNC.

We're working on the format for the videos and will be doing some faster ones in the future. Thanks for the feedback.

  • Just ordered some. I'm making some dies for a home-made clay extruder. This looks really easy to work with. We'll see how it holds up strength wise. Either way, fun stuff to play with.

I particularly like the idea of being able to re-melt and form it again.

I might do a video on the results.

  • superb

  • is this the same (or how is it diferent) from something like shapelock?

  • What was the mold made of? Also would have been nice to see how the handle turned out, and maybe a bit faster edit :)

  • Fantastic
