Fortunato shows how you can plug in and go green.

The electric vehicle (EV) is not a new concept. However, as concern for the environment has deepened and gasoline prices have risen, interest in EVs has skyrocketed. Con Edison is committed to making the transition from gasoline to electric vehicles as simple and convenient as possible. That's why we're providing customers with the information they need to become "plug-in ready." Check out www.conEd.com/electricvehicles.

  • @CameronSturm Of course recycling batteries is essential to keep pollutants out of landfills. And many battery manufacturers use recycled material to produce the batteries, keeping the waste stream at a minimum. But the batteries do last a long time as well. The government mandates manufacturers to warranty Hybrid/Electric vehicle batteries for 8 years or 80,000 miles minimum. Batteries typically last for more than 100,000 miles.
