My favorite live version of HAEWAFY. From Houston, TX on the other side of the mirror tour in 1989. An emotional Stevie performance.

Has anyone ever written anything for you?
In all your darkest hours
Did you ever just hear me sing?
Listen to me now
You know I'd rather be alone
Than be without you
Oh Don't you know that
I want you to remember

Has anyone ever given anything to you?
In all your darkest hours
Did you ever just give it back?
Well, I have
I have given that to you
If that's all, all I ever do
I want you to remember
This night..

And the rain comes down
There's no pain and there's no doubt
It was easy to say
I believed in you every day
If not for me
Then do it for the world

Has anyone ever given anything for you?
In all your darkest hours
Did you ever just let me help?
Let me help you now
You know I'd rather be alone
Than be without you
Oh don't you know that
I want you to remember me

And, if not for me, then
Do it for yourself
If not for me, then
Do it for the world

And on this
The 20th Aniversery of Woodstock
I would like for you to remember
All of those that are no longer with us
Because, they were poets
And yet, they were priests of nothing
But they were legends...legends..

And I thought that there was a connection

  • @thehuntclan Not quite accurate. Emma died in 1974. It was after a 1984 tour with Joe Walsh when Joe took her to see the fountain and memorial plaque dedicated to his daughter, Emma's, memory. It was immediately after that when Stevie wrote this song. Later she told a British reporter that Joe Walsh was the great love of her life.

  • R.I.P Suzanne this is still your song..I love you.

  • I love you stevie.

  • @thehuntclan That is not quite accurate. When Stevie Nicks was in a rather bad place emotionally, Joe Walsh took her up to the playground where Joe had a drinking fountain put in in memory of his daughter, Emma. Stevie was so touched by it, she went home and the first thing she did was write this song. Go watch Stevie Nicks on the Story Tellers Video's. She explains it.
