the remake was its own movie. this was a masterpiece of filmmaking. John Carpenter could create the very mood of any of his films on a very limited budget. a classic movie with a classic theme

This is probably my favourite John Carpenter theme of all. So creepy and atmospheric, more epic than the film itself.
