It's just left unanswered. If you abuse certain items you can fight a vampire Vincent, but I'm not sure it's him since what kind of vampire can use Holy Water as a weapon?
In any case he's just never referenced again after finally meeting him and getting the key from him.

One of the most powerful final bosses I've faced (albeit the second form in Cornell's story was even stronger)

Yeah, i remember this Boss.
He got some cool attacks, especially this Fireballs that explode end the huge Shockwave XD
