Throughout history, some governments have managed change when confronted. Others have continued to deny the basic dignity of their own people and are forced to change after the people turn against them. In North Korea, under the world's most oppressive regime, is change possible? Hannah Song is the President and CEO of Liberty in North Korea, a non-profit organization that raises awareness about the human rights and humanitarian crisis in North Korea. Song discusses how change in North Korea is not only impossible, but perhaps inevitable.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
