Some people have suggested that the clicking I demonstrate in this video:

is coming from the image stabilization system in the EPL1. This shows that that isn't the case. It's the aperture blades in the 20/1.7.

Understand I'm not complaining about this or suggesting that it's a problem -- only showing what the clicking sound is and where it's coming from.

  • I get similar clicks off the 14-42 kit lens supplied with my E-PL1 as well. The IS also clicks, so its actually both. I think the Panasonic 20/1.7 is just a little louder when the aperture compensates. With the kit lens it doesn't really bother me, I bet even if the 20 is louder its not that bad.
