Stateside [Johi2410]

Happy New Year everybody!
This is an old Mel Tillis song I recorded about a week before Christmas while dealing with a little cold, but I don't think it harmed the singing too much.
I've read many comments from former servicemen who remember hearing this song while being stationed abroad. I think the songs not political at all, it's just about missing home very much!
There are so many "homesick" songs in country music, but I think this is one of the best I've heard.
Of course Mel Tillis wrote many great songs including "Ruby, Don't Take Your Love To Town" and the (also homesick) "Detroit City".
