CANNABIS CULTURE - Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper answered questions this evening in a YouTube-sponsored poll and interview where marijuana was the #1 issue. As expected, the PM rehashed the same old tired arguments in defense of his destructive cannabis policies.

Sorry Steve, we do buy from our neighbours.....doctors, dentists, lawyers....hardly the international cartel you refer to. Most of us wish you would just relax and have a puff. Drugs aren't bad, you are....but perhaps with a little help, you might become a better human being....

I want a politician in power who understand what marijuana is, and not group it in with "other drugs".

Comparing weed to cocaine is like comparing coffee to moonshine... -_-

i wonder if he views the multi-billion dollar medical marijuana industry of the Canadian government in the same destructive, poverty stricken, crime filled light as the one he described here arising from 'all' drug trades

All the violence he talks about is caused by the drug being illegal. Who is responsible for that? Certainly not the people, We all want his ass gone!

Most of what you're saying is guessing, and you didn't refute my point. If i buy weed from a big corporation how exactly am i sponsoring the drug cartels? Yeah makes no sense

Because your local hippie probably won't offer the special lemon haze anymore. I can't just buy a tobacco plant and grow my own varieties, and weed would probably be controlled in the same way so big corporations would be growing the weed instead. Even if he could grow it, the hippie would also have to tax it heavily and would need an expensive license to sell you that weed, making it unlikely that he would be a dealer once weed is legalized

Sounds like bullshit to me the only reason the cartel has this monopoly is because of their violence and the illegality, why would i buy some weed grown in mexico and then smuggled over the border when i can buy my local hippie's special lemon haze.
