Holy hell...even as an anorexic, worn-out, nervous, CBS-pressured cash-cow, she had more true talent and charisma in her smallest fart than all of today's "stars" combined. The woman radiated talent like a supernova. Amazing. Scary. Beautiful.

Really, so-called "stars" of today's (non)culture should bow down and kill themselves before the likes of Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, James Dean, Bobby Darin, etc. etc.

When Judy is dressed in this particular outfit, and no audience is shown, it is actually a dress rehearsal. Some of the laughter is from the crew, but otherwise the laughter and applause is dubbed in later.  According to Coyne Sanders' book on the show, Judy got a new prosthetic butt later in the show, to better fill her costumes. It may have been the view of her at 3:23 that made it seem like a good idea. Ironically, she had told a reporter she didn't want to "stand around singing Swanee."

I'd hardly heard Judy just speak before....it just hit me that Liza even inherited her mother's speaking voice. Ahhh, never has a more talented family existed.
