My brothers mini being rolling roaded after having a Z-cars 2 litre Vtec honda engine conversion. Unfortunately wheelspin prevented a true peak power reading but at 6250 rpm it was developing 239 bhp at the wheels.

  • Right then, dyno time has been done again, the result? 250.6 hp at the wheels. Hope this settles the minor fucking uproar thats been going on over this vid....lol...

  • why is there a traction issue with 236hp? why not just dyno it again at a higher gear?

  • 250 hp, 600 kgs weight, 13 inch wheels,no real easy way of strapping it down....you get the picture.

  • Very cool, is it a B20z bottom end with a B16a head?

Im looking at doing this to my CRX :D

  • Cheers mate, its the K20a 2001 onwards motor, running aftermarket throttle bodies and ECU and a custom stainless 4 branch manifold and system.

  • i swear i saw this at mini in the park at santa pod?

  • Probably did mate, I know he`s been to santa pod a few times.

  • I built a 1310 turbo mini using modified mg turbo, straight cut drop gears, omega pistons, howley head, and a load of goodies,128 bhp, good fun as it went mental over 3000rpm. my mum (a pensioner) borrowed it once and left 2 x 25 yd black lines on the road taking off a little quick at the lights (rofll)

  • no offence mate but it does say in the information "My brothers mini..." lol

  • @zx6rrob 260 horsepower in a mini? You need to to take out a life insurance policy an your brother IMMEDIATELY!!! Double indemnity, all the options! Do it now! You don't have much time!

  • ahhh so awesome :D

  • These things are always hard to dyno. There aren't very good strapping points, and the car is way too light to provide any traction..

  • @gotobedandtickler

hahaha i would have videotaped it and put it on youtube if i were you

  • la hueva fome

  • Not really, Because if you shift at a higher RPM, you won't drop to a lower RPM.

Usually you'll make more power AFTER Your peak, than you will before it.. Usually Power just flat lines or starts to drop slowly. Shift Just after peak power.

  • While this is true, shifting to low can drop you out of your power band and into a lower HP area than shifting at redline, therefore making matters worse. If you peak hp is at 8k & 200hp but shifting then will make the next gear pick up a 4k-out of vtec-and only making 130hp, then it would be better to stay in the previous gear until the 9k redline & 170hp and shift into vtec and the start of your peak power band.

  • thats what i'm talking bout.
