  • @shwillh The flashes are usually flashed tonotoptically. At less than 200ms. This is used to prevent involuntary saccades (eye movements), and well even more so, voluntary glancing.

  • The results of this experiment seem almost "too perfect". Joe could have easily been coached by Gazzaniga to say the necessary things to prove his hypotheses. There seems to be little or no control by the scientists to make sure Joe doesn't simply look over by shifting his gaze to the word on the left.  Now why would Gazzaniga do such a thing? He's become THE go - to guy on this topic of split brain analysis. I'd like to see a more detailed report on the methods used in his experiment.
