Using Mylar bags with oxygen absorbers and 5 gallon buckets, you can store up quite a bit of food in a very short period of time. You can get results of up to 20 years using this method. White rice, hard wheat, rolled oats and pinto beans can last a very long time when sealed up. This is an economical and easy way for anyone to get started storing up food for the future.

  • @MsJamesp If you google search "mylar bucket liners" you will come up with a bunch of sites that sell them. Thanks

  • Where is the best place to buy pinto beans in large quantities? I've not seen any at costco. Only the tiny bags at the local grocery as well

  • @SalamatPoKuya Yeah, the pinto beans are at Sam's Club some times. I haven't seen them at Costco. Usually the Mexican food stores have larger quantities as well.

  • Yes they are used for different uses but they have the same materials iron powder, water, salt, activated charcoal, and wood fiber, would it not do the same job?

    Thanks

  • @drewstarr71 - I'm not sure if they would be "food grade". Good point though.
