This is the story of Snow White "Narrated by Jack Arthur with the Peter Pan Chorus and Orchestra directed by Vicki Kasen" according to the label. It's on Peter Pan Records 2243 A & 2243 B. I DO flip the record and play both sides in this video so you don't have to search for part 2 anywhere. I don't know the release year of this parctcular disc but I do know that Peter Pan Records company was started in 1950 and since 78 rpms were phased out during the fifties it must be one of the earliest records they released.

FYI - The machine I'm playing it on has some issues, as you can tell from how the record sort ot teeters it's way off the stem instead of falling properly. lol.

  • So, totally on a whim, I thought I might just type in "Snow White record" to see if someone by some miracle had uploaded the audio of this very record. And... well.... I'm a bit speechless that it's here. Along with the Peter Pan record which I had COMPLETELY forgotten about. Thanks for bringing back this part of my childhood for me.

  • @KekoaOnorati Oh cool! You're very welcome. :)

  • Thanks! I can remember walking to the shopping mall with my Mom back in the early 1970's, and if I was well behaved, she bought me a record in the "dime store". This was one of the records she bought for me! I haven't heard this in over 35 years! Unfortunately, all of my "kiddie" records on vinyl were thrown in the garbage in the early 1980's. Does anybody remember the Nursery Rhymes record the Peter Pan Players and Jack Arthur made? It featured "Oats Peas, Beans". I wish it was posted too!

  • @Stevedup Hmmmm, I'd post it if I had it. This is the only children's record I have on 78 right now. I do have some on 45 but wasn't going to post them as they're famaliar stories like Cinderella and Thumbelina and such.

  • I have this on a 45. Once I find it, I'll post a video response.

  • Neato, please do.

  • @fromthesidelines i remember 'synthetic plastic' and you used ot be able to get a catalog from peter pan records.

  • This was recorded in 1950, at the time Daniel Kasen's "Synthetic Plastics" of Newark, N.J. reintroduced their Peter Pan label, nationally distributed by "James & Jonathan, Inc." (there was an earlier version of the label several years before [originally a product of "General Moulding"], focusing on medleys of children's songs, which Kasen reissued over the years). Jack Arthur was a well-known actor/announcer on radio and TV in the New York area, and he narrated Peter Pan's stories for years...

  • @RCALennon... If you ever get it, or other Peter Pan records...let me know! Thanks!

  • Ooh I had this on 45 when I was a kid! It all came back to me as I listened to it. Thanks so much for the video!

  • I love these peter pan records. Especially the 7 inch pressed on red plastic. The labels are always really cool.
