The truth of the matter is that America didn't vote for liberal causes, but rather against the insanity of the right wing.
If it weren't for the extraordinary incompetence of of G Dub and McCain/Palin, we wouldn't have such a dominant control over the fed gov't.
I'll take it, but its not as if the progressives have homogenized into united front to get shit done. If anything, the remnants of the Republican party are splintering into the Democrats to water down the true progressive movement.
