@lesgl I think some whites can use the term "blackfella", eg. someone with your background. But if I was to call any of the Kooris that I come across a blackfella, I think that might not go down so well with them. Mind you, I don't call them Koori either. I use their name. I think it's all a matter of respect and what sort of connection you have to the people concerned. I'm comfortable with "Koori", but I don't believe that no whites should ever use the term blackfella. Most, yes. All, no.

I grew up a ''White fella'' living in remote parts of WA NT during the 60s 70s ..went to school at Alice Springs HIgh school ..moved to Tennant Creek and left in 87 and now live in the ''Big smoke'' ..Sydney..when i look back to those days and the ''Black fellas'' i came to know i get the reaction..''ooh you cant call them that ..they are Kooris or Murris etc''...i give em' an blank look and say ''gee i didnt haer them call themselves that up there''...lol
