Capture of Victorian record 128kg Southern Bluefin Tuna caught off Portland by Steve Makarios with Ross Moor and Eddie Zahra of the Brighton Central Angling Club on Thursday 9 April 2009. The fish was caught after 5 1/2 hours on 37kg tackle 70 kilometres off shore west of the horseshoe after the reel seized up and the double broke.

  • The tuna was expertly filleted and all was eaten. Beautiful!!

  • You've got no idea what was happening and have made a fairly stupid comment. In fact we were using the boat nearly the whole time driving off the fish and trying to get it near the surface. Trying to winch it couldn't be further from the truth.
