Darlene H. Unrue, distinguished Professor of English at University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Darlene H. Unrue has written and edited several books about the work and life of Texas literary talent Katherine Anne Porter (1890-1980). Porter, born in Indian Creek, Texas, was a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, essayist, short story writer, novelist, and political activist. In her mid-teens, Porter lived in Victoria, Texas and taught music, physical culture, and dramatic reading.
