This video shows the Yaesu FT-2000 with an RFSPACE IF-2000 / SDR-IQ KIT. This Kit adds the fastest and highest resolution panoramic adapter available. Compared to the DMU-2000, the SDR-IQ offers about 50 updates per second plus resolution so high that CW can be read from the waterfall display. In addition, the SDR-IQ also adds a pair of multimode receivers to the pair that is already present in the radio. You can also record up to 190 KHz of RF bandwidth to hardrive and also monitor your TX signal. The IF-2000 IF interface board does not require any modifications to the radio. The board plugs into the same location as the DMU-2000 board. This board does not currently support the FT-950.

  • I have just bought a second hand SDR-IQ and IF-2000....just cant wait for them to turn up! Have owned an FT-2000 since they were released. At one stage had a DMU but sold it.

Well done guys! It looks nice....BTW, will it work on the FT-5000????

  • @boottheboss Works directly with FT-5000 using the IF output on the back of the radio. Don't forget to enable the IF output in the menu.

  • I use my SDR-IQ to monitor the 144 MHz band using my elecraft transverter at 28 Mhz.. High quaility snapshots can be made in MPG format, especially ham radio satellites. SDR is the future of ham radio thanks to the Flex Radio Company in Texas. Nice demo video.

  • Thanks to them and thanks to us. We were the first ham radio company to offer a wideband waterfall display in 2003. Our SDR-14 radio using direct sampling architecture was operational in 2002.

  • $600?!

I think ill stick with my $10 RS-232 cable and HRD.

Don't get me wrong though its a very nice piece of equipment.

  • This will give you 190 KHz of spectrum display. HRD gives you 3 KHz. Totally different hardware. Still cheaper than DMU-2000 and much more useful as a pan adapter. Regards.

  • I know the question maybe sounds like a beginner question, but what software is that? where can be downloaded? even if it is trial.

  • @RFSPACE1 ah, I'm sorry. I highly buchered my statement. i was asking if the SDR-IQ needed another radio to operate, which i found it does not. However, it can do DRM, correct?

  • @PresentedIn4D It needs an SDR-IQ, SDR-14, SDR-IP or NetSDR

  • Does it need another radio to rx, or does it operate alone?

  • @KC9RXB That comparison isn't realistic. I have the SDR-IQ connected to my FT-2000 as shown in this video. The ability to monitor 190 KHz of a band at one time visually is a tremendous asset to almost any operating environment. I wouldn't trade mine for the world. HRD doesn't come close in that regard.
