It's a pity that so many people are looking at Aiko as a potential " sex - bot ", when it / " she " shows so much more potential than that. Robot designers make robots female for PR purposes, but also because, for many, the feminine image is a nurturing, positive one.

Then you have people who ask " yeah, but can you have sex with it ? ". Oy.

yeeeeahhhh that's what I've been thinking too......that ppl will be like, can I sleep with it? I'd like'em for security or stuff like that. not for anything else. I'm sorry but humans gotta stay on top.

@KurikazuTheWarrior - As long as there are no stray electro - magnetic sources that she / it ( I keep saying she or it, I know ) can be exposed to that could play cagey with Aiko's circuitry & programming, I guess Aiko wouldn't do something unexpected or inexplicably random.

@KurikazuTheWarrior - If they can help me keep my CD / DVD collection organized, my checkbook balanced, & maybe monitor incoming cell phone calls, I'd be happy enough with that. The rest is gravy.

Speaking of cell phones, I have to wonder if cell phone / Blackberry transmissions can mess about with her programming, execution of programmed tasks & such. You wouldn't want her / it / whatever dispensing denture cleaning tablets in a senior facility rather than medicine or something.

Like Megaman, he was originally designed to help Dr.Light and not as a fighting robot. These androids could be used to help elderly people and even more.

Why is it that everytime I think of Japanese female robot, I imagine some sick, perverted Japanese techie improving it for some form of sexual activity? What's up with Japanese and their spiritless robot obsession. Maybey they dream of having a woman they can control and manipulate with the touch of a few buttons...
