To an audiophile--even one on a budget--changing and upgrading the gear is just part of the routine. Here's a two minute and twenty three second snapshot of just such routine.

  • was wondering, how does itunes mp3 compared to cd quality, was thinking to changing all my cd to mp3 format, eyeing on the peachtree idecco as my integrated amp + dac for my focal 714

  • @die101 MP3 compression is MP3 compression. Putting "iTunes" in front of it doesn't change a thing. Though, for the life of me, I have no idea why you'd want to trade CD quality for MP3. It is orders of magnitude inferior.

  • wow thats nice stuff ther bro how do them new speaker's sound?

  • It's difficult to describe. Pretty much like sitting in the middle of a live performance. Individual instrument placement sounds far more natural than it would with surround sound.

  • @HexiBase true enough mp3 are compression, but the thing that puzzle me is that alot of the Hi Fi integrated amp / DAC are offering ipod docking capabilities, so my thought those that downloaded frm apple itunes are of audiophile quality as well as being ripped from a cd at 128kb

  • @raymondleeleggs LOL how pathetic is that. I also see these days some kind of free mcafee crap installed which I think does nothing positive. My favorite antivirus these days is Microsoft security essentials :)

  • @svtcontour Norton antivirus is a virus. It goes rogue when the subscription runs out andasks you to win crap like free flatscreen Tv's it's so gay.

  • What do you mean when you said "break up" while referring to enclosure depth and resonance?

  • lol..omg!.....lol....well over the top....lol..

  • Motivation to build my own full range speakers :) Damn it, there goes any free time I may have had. LOL. Great vid by the way.

My transport unit is a HUGE dual cpu server which is quite noisy but its way down in the basement. Its running 2k3 server and acts as my ftp, web, mail and fileserver in addition to media streaming. Also agree about getting rid of all the crap that preloaded computers come with. If I ever see another trial of Norton security essentials or office, I will lose it.

  • Theres me at 0:04 :D

  • holy shit
