What sort of folk dance is this that is based on acrobatics? It is similar to the Russians folk dancing. Just acrobatic movements and running around using ballet steps.
Actually, I think, what has happened was that ballet steps were added to Irish dancing to male it a bit more varied because in its original form it quickly gets boring.

@ShiningStar45 she use to kick ass at high jumps too! she was the head girl at my school....she was also real good at sprints during athletics...always won!

2nd place in worlds that were held in Glasgow.... but what ever about results she still is a champion ....

yes she done it for last couple of years, did the recent appearance on the late late show as lead dancer as well...
