It's usually state law for elevators to have some sort of device for passengers to contact in the event of an emergancy like if they get stuck or something. Atleast in my state it is.

was their a phone in there? I read a story online somewhere about somebody that got stuck in an elevator at underground Atlanta and had to ring the alarm for well over an hour before anybody even noticed it.
