I would love to hear more songs from these angelic voiced monks (the lady has a beautiful voice as well). Very relaxing and comforting song.

What kind of weird outfit is that? It looks like a hippie.

Absolutely, Peterllew - I much prefer that version too because of the way it situated the Beatitudes in the context of eternal life.
"Vox de Nube" was one of my favourite cds but I lost it when I moved to Sweden... so it's nice to hear this, even if it's not quite as good as the other version.

This is a Russian Orthodox chant. You've heard the chant before: Tchaikovsky used it in the opening of the 1812 Overture.
The Hymnal 1982 of the Episcopal Church has a slightly different setting of the Beattitudes to this same chant at No. 560.

A truly beautiful arrangement of the beatitudes. Do you know who the music is by?
This is Irish folk singer Noirin Ni Riain & The Monks of Glenstal Abbey. The original version on the CD "Vox de Nube" had a harder-hitting refrain, the words of Jesus on the cross to the repentant thief: Truly I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise. (Luke 23:43)

The CD has been discontinued by the manufacturer, Reliquary, but it's still available at Amazon in very small numbers - and there's an infinite supply on iTunes.
