Lohan and her estranged father may meet

Lindsay Lohan is reportedly planning on meeting with her estranged father. One source says Michael Lohan will visit the actress in rehab at the Cirque Lodge in Utah. Michael himself would not confirm whether he planned to make the visit, but said Lohan's mom is doing everything possible to prevent him from seeing his kids.

Actor Owen Wilson is dropping out of the new Ben Stiller movie. This comes after he allegedly tried to commit suicide last weekend. The thirty-eight year old was set to begin shooting "Tropic Thunder," in the next few weeks. Ben Stiller is producing, directing and starring in that movie. The decision was apparently mutual between him and Wilson. Wilson is still hospitalized in Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

A 9-foot bronze statue of Nelson Mandela is now standing tall in London's Parliament Square. In a ceremony yesterday, the statue was unveiled as Britain's gift to the people of South Africa. Mandela and his wife attended the event along with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and model Naomi Campbell. Mandela spoke saying that although the statue is of one man, it should symbolize all those who have resisted oppression.

Singer-songwriter Juan Luis Guerra is leading the 2007 Latin Grammy nominee list with five nominations. The nominees were announced yesterday in Miami Beach. Other artists up for the award include Ivy Queen and Elvis Crespo. The awards will take place in November in Las Vegas and air live on the Univision network.

Celebrities flocked to the red carpet in New York this week for the premiere of "Death Sentence." Star Kevin Bacon arrived with his daughter Sosie. He plays a man who witnesses his son getting murdered and vows to hunt down his killers. John Travolta's wife, Kelly Preston, plays Bacon's wife in the movie. "Death Sentence" opens in theaters tomorrow.
