Why are people shocked when actors are shy and proletarian immediately presume they're on drugs?! People - most actors happen to be shy... acting is putting on a persona over your own self, so interviews strip that persona. Jees!

You idiots, he isn't on drugs. And all you all bringing up that Letterman crap, that was all a joke. Go watch his latest interview on Letterman. It's from September of last year, and in it he is perfectly normal. He is taking a break from acting, but I saw on Imbd he is working on a movie right now. So, give the guy a break. He went through alot at a very young age. So, stop and think before you start judging people.
