March is the month for everyone with a sweet tooth. The Blue Hills Reservation held its maple sugaring events on March 8. The Matfield Maple Farm in West Bridgewater will host maple sugar tours until the end of the month at noon and 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays at the farm, 107 Matfield St. in West Bridgewater. The fee is $5 per person, free for children under 4. For more information, call 508-588-9858. Mass. Audubon will hold its annual Maple Sugaring Festival March 15 and 16 at the Moose Hill sanctuary in Sharon. Ninety-minute guided tours will leave every 15 minutes from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Volunteers will portray characters from the past attending to their daily chores, including making maple syrup. The tour will end at the sugarhouse, where sap is turned into syrup.
Pancakes, sap dogs and maple popcorn will be sold at the Nature Center. Admission is $7 in advance or $8 at the door, and free for children under 3. For more information, call 781-784-5691. The sanctuary is at 293 Moose Hill St., about 1.5 miles west of the MBTA station.
