3 NEEDLES stars Lucy Liu, Chloe Sevigny, Shawn Ashmore, Sandra Oh, Stockard Channing and Olympia Dukakis. Directed by Thom Fitzgerald (The Hanging Garden, Beefcake, and The Event).
We all face a common enemy. 3 NEEDLES tells three stories from the global AIDS crisis.
--In China, a black market blood collection scheme causes an outbreak in a rural village.
--In Montreal, a porn actor hides his HIV status leading his family down a shocking path.
--And, in Africa, a novice nun makes a desperate sacrifice to protect the health of plantation workers.

Powerful movie. I did not know the Chinese part of the story.

I want to see this film so badly. It looks sensational.

one of the best movies about the AIDS epidemic - powerful and beautifully acted - right up there with and the band played on and angels in america.

With all that I've seen and read over the years there may be far worse human elements involved in at least part of the epidemic picture. Foreknowledge at least 40 years ago in the hands of one's enemies.

I rented it a few days ago. I was struck by how it told very eloquent stories with relatively few words. Uncluttered. Compassionate. Beautifully photographed. It made a very hard subject easier to watch. One of the best movies of any kind I've seen.

oh & by the way, does anyone know when this CANADIAN film will actually be available in CANADA? I live in Windsor but I was willing to drive to Toronto to see it... would of gone to Chicago but I need a f#cking passport these days.
