Awsome! I'm playing with this myself. How difficult is it to get a v bit with a sharp end, or at least one with a tip less than 1mm! Any recommendations? Looking for one with about 0.2 tip, or anything less than 0.5 mm.

There is some free software to do this if you look around, generate dxfs and g code that is.

Which software did you use to make the code?

I use Aspire but cant get proper settings with it

@ODDNAME ArtCAM 2008, V-carving toolpath. I wanted it to do one column at a time and thus minimise the X-axis usage. I had to move every second column to a different layer, then generate two toolpaths. It still did some stupid rapid moves though.

@metalfusionf Hi there, I am using ArtCam for doing toolpaths like PhotoVCarve, just 1mm max deep 60deg V-bit and 1.5mm space between. But have no Idea how to make a single holes........? Would U give me the idea..? Pls...

@firefoxik75 Didn't really understand the problem but here is an outline of the workflow:

1. Generate the pattern using my software "DXF Halftone". (link in video description)

2. Import the DXF to ArtCAM

3. Select the "V-Bit Carving" from toolpaths tab

4. Select the tool and all the circles from the work area & adjust settings

5. Generate and export the toolpath

Hi I'm unfamiliar with art cam. How do you control the depth of each hole?

@metalfusionf OK thanx for quick response, I just missed that first step.....

I did it like -

1. import relief from picture, fit it and set maz Z like 1mm

2. Toolpaaths, Machine relief, select 60deg Vbit, and adjust stepover like 2mm, type raster, and angle 30deg, results are pretty impressive too, but I was wonderred in your dot method, in a while start cutting your dxf halftone made picture....
