The Reputation: "Let This Rest"

The first Reputation album won me over quickly, with a burst of four great songs to open it, but the follow-up, 2004's To Force a Fate, was a little less cohesive. The songs I liked didn't come in runs and were mostly found in the second half of the record. The result is that I didn't listen to it much when it came out, and only recently remembered just how great this song, its opener, is. This performance of it is great too, even the part where somebody comes up and asks me if they can use any of the empty chairs scattered all around me.

The lead singer has VERY LITTLE artist TALENT. She looks somewhat pretty, but she can barely play the guitar and can't sing. I just about fell out of my chair laughing watching her trying to play that sappy lead intro. The whole song wreaks of sappiness.

I should come downtown and kick your ass for not carrying on! As usual, the vocals are barely audible, and that's too bad, 'cause they're my favorite part. You knuckle-headed legal eagle, get back up off your ass and play GOD DAMN IT!!! I have a Stratocaster (actually 2) and Les Paul and KNOW HOW TO USE THEM!!! I promise I won't try to screw you emotionally or physically if I can just hear you play and sing again! ARRRGGGHHH!!!!

Great to see The Reputation live! I wish it was professionally shot, but at least it's something. It just makes me hunger for a live DVD from them.
