1) He celebrated his 19th birthday on 18 January 2012, the same day Liverpool agreed a deal to sign him from Sporting Lisbon.
2) Utilised by Sporting's youth team in a creative midfield role, Joao Carlos operates in a similar fashion to David Silva at Man City and has already drawn comparisons to gifted Portuguese international and former Barcelona star Deco. Kenny Dalglish is said to have been very impressed with Joao Carlos' performances against Liverpool's U19s
