  • were u in the surf? and what did u put on the bobber?

  • not exactly IN the surf, but very shallow. on that pier, halibut can be caught from the surf to the end. Under the bobber is about five feet of line, the hook and bait on the end and a splitshot a foot from the bait to keep it near the bottom.

  • you didn't even check if it was legal

  • I did after the video, he was 24inches

  • no it wasnt.

  • okay...

yeah, you were on the pier and measured the fish yourself right?

  • I can't believe he stayed on after scaring him with the net that many times. I've seen many lost that way, especially when they are bigger. I always use a pier gaff instead.

  • The pier boards are 1 foot a piece. @ 1:28 the halibut it lying semi diagonal and is basically across 2 boards. Definitely legal.

  • it looks short.

  • I engage in midget gangbangs on a regular basis.

  • whoever is guiding that crab net sucks!!!!!!!!

  • bs that damn thing was short

  • @edgarps25 it was 24 inches. pretty dang close to being short. always check

  • @Benjiman72391 Off the bat you could tell that mo-fo was legal,,,No need to size it out!

  • Hey bro!

    Nice Halibut you got !

I see you got a bobber on your set-up...How did you rig it ?

  • @mmmmmarcus Hasn't happened yet. If the fish looks questionable, I button the drag and crank him. I have lost a few this way, but I feel it's better than kiling a shorty. I've seen crab nets split the tail on many shorts too which is bad news for the 'but.

  • @STUPEDAS0 forgive me for replying to a year-old comment, but the net is a better idea. What if the fish turned out to be illegal? What if you gaffed an undersized hali, and a dfg warden walked right behind you and watched you pull it up?
