The Inauguration Day for the 1st Asia Grow-Out Event. Balloting to see which participant gets his preferred koi first. 2 separate categories, 1 for Matsunosuke sankes and 1 for Momotaro Mako showas. All are tosai about 25-35cm from Fall spawns. The event was initiated by forumers on the Malaysian Koi Forum and the voluntary committee also comprised forumers.
Overwhelming response, a total of 145 participants from Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei and Vietnam took up all the 120 Matsunosuke sankes as well as the 120 Momotaro Mako showas. The 120 sankes will be put into a 160 ton pond with cavitated water at Max Koi Farm in Singapore, and likewise for the Momotaro Mako showas. After 3 months, all the koi will be bowled up for photo taking. Final judging will be on 29th Nov, after a grow-out period of 6 months. The sanke GC and the showa GC will be pitted against each other for the overall GC.
Hi Steven, indeed it was massive. Europe has a strong kichi base too, it just needs a strong leader to put one together. If not, you're most welcome to participate in our next one!! It'd be great to have participants as far as Belgium!! :)
