Obamajugen - Part One

UPDATE: The Director of the Urban Community Leadership Academy, Ms. Joyce McGautha, has confirmed that this was done on school property and that the students were taught and encouraged to do this by a teacher at the public charter middle school. In addition, she stated that she was fully aware that this activity was going on, she was aware that the video was being created, and had no problem with this activity until it was made public. She was fine with this happening, up until they got caught.
She also confirmed that they receive state and federal funding, that they are indeed managed by the University of Central Missouri (a state school), and that these students received credit for their involvement in this group. In addition to this, she further clarified that there was no attempt to provide students with information about McCain or his platforms, which kept it from being a legal, fair, and balanced look at politics for educational purposes. If the students had been taught about both candidates in a non-preferential manner there would not be as much of a problem, as that would simply be an educational look at politics and public policy. Because there was no attempt to make this activity fair, balanced, and unbiased, the school is in violation of multiple state and federal laws that prohibit such campaigning at the expense of tax-payers. Ms. McGautha herself has admitted this, although in several interviews she still fails to see a problem with the activity.
Coincidentally, Ms. McGautha is a supporter of Obama, having donated $375 to Obama's campaign. Not really all that surprising. Still, regardless of who the director of a school supports, it's ridiculous that the Director is so completely unaware of her legal, ethical, and moral responsibilities. The fact that she still refuses to acknowledge that her school and her employees have done anything wrong - beyond just getting caught - is an absolute travesty.

These boys walk in chanting, "Alpha! Omega! Alpha! Omega!" Do you know what that means? That's a quote from the Bible, wherein God refers to himself, saying, "I am Alpha and Omega."
These boys are essentially calling Obama a God, worshiping him as militants.

And this was done at a school in Kansas City, Missouri. Even more concerning is the fact that the school at which this was done - The Urban Community Leadership Academy - is a public charter school, under the direction of the University of Central Missouri. That means that this school, which is indoctrinating children for the benefit of a political candidate, is using tax-payer dollars to brainwash children. This is disgusting and a complete violation of the law.

This is a dangerous Cult of Personality. This is reminiscent of the Hitlerjugen, aka The Hilter Youth. This is reminiscent of the way women in North Korea refer to themselves as Kim Jong-il's "beautiful flowers."
This cannot stand in our own country. How can we give this man, whom they call God, the most powerful office in the world?

Yeah, some black kids are being inspired to do great things, DEFINITELY DONT VOTE FOR OBAMA. If these kids were inspired by McCain, you'd all be praising him and how he is so inspiring. Um, for the record, I'm not a Republican; I'm an Independent. And yeah, it's great that these kids are inspired, but they should be inspired because of who they are, their hard work, because of this great country that gives them all such opportunities. They should be inspired for all these reasons and so many more, not because of some politician. That's not harmless inspiration, that's dangerous hero worship & cult of personality.

And if it was militant worship of McCain, I'd still be worried.

i was talking about you in that comment, I was talking about what everyone else has posted. Anyways, you can be inspired by a person. These kids, seeing that Obama used to be a normal person from Chicago, has grown all the way to graduating from Harvord Law, becoming a senator, and now might be the first black President of the United States. The message these boys feel Obama is giving them is that you can do anything with a little hope, and to never doubt that you can't do it, because you can.

Um, Obama wasn't a "normal person from Chicago." He's not even from Chicago, & neither was his family! He was born in Hawaii, spent part of his childhood in Indonesia, his teenage years back in Hawaii, then went to Columbia and Harvard thanks to his white grandparents & funding from Dr. Khalid Al-Mansour, & then decided to go to Chicago because he had connections there within Chicago Machine Politics & because he was offered a job by Bill Ayers. While I am an Obama supporter, I'm also a white woman with children and I don't have a problem with a group of young kids celebrating an historic black figure. Daily, across the country, children stand with their hands over their hearts and say the pledge of allegience- isn't that kind of Hitler like? Oh... but that's "honoring" the country? I don't get it
