Freezing rain moved into the Portland area and coated everything with a half-inch layer of ice. Chunks of ice began falling from the power lines, but thankfully the ice was a short lived event, as the snow came back quickly. Little did we know, it wasn't going to stop...

That's when things got really interesting!

  • Why is there a tornado siren going off?

  • Tornado siren? We don't have tornado sirens here in Oregon. A few volunteer fire stations out in the smaller towns, some fire sirens up in the mountains, and Tsunami sirens at the coast, but most of those don't even work anymore.

I'll watch the video and see if I can't hear what you're asking about...

  • Yeah, I didn't hear anything that sounded like a siren... Where was it at?

  • 1:01

  • Sounds like a train, I live three blocks from the tracks.

  • theres no one there :o its 28 days or weeks later lol

  • I had such a great time during the snow season last year. I can remember all the transformers blowing and trees losing limbs around me. Just amazing. I hope we get a repeat this year. Thanks again!

  • Yeah, I worked (note past tense) just up the street from Bob's Red Mill - awesome breakfast!!!

That phrase was my silly attempt at making fun of my friend Tony (driving the station wagon) because when he gets frustrated, the F-word starts liberally flying out of his mouth at random. I don't know if it's from anything or not?

  • I'm really hoping for something this weekend! You could be my next door neighbor because everything you recorded, I've been at like almost a weekly basis...I love breakfast at Bob's which is prolly down the street from your job, hung out at that sheris like every night when I was a teenager, plus I've never heard someone use the phrase "fukity-fuk-fuk" before besides me...is that from a movie or something?

  • No problem! I'm glad you enjoyed it... This series was more of a personal experiment than anything else, but it turned out pretty good, I think. There would have been a part 5 (and there may still be) but I accidentally erased about 5 days worth of video (after this point and spanning over Christmas) so I don't have much to work with other than a few photos... We'll see what happens.

Maybe this Saturday, I'll have to start new 'wicked winter weather' vlog?
