It's here. The engine that will drive your sound with the chime, grit, bite, and bark of the most classic, dripping with tone microphones in history: The Martin Retro series. We worked with Larry Fishman and some of the best engineers in the music business to create a revolutionary new way of getting the soul of your Martin Guitar through an amp.

I'm 57 (next wk) and got my first Martin in '74. As in the Ford / Chevy debate, I was a Martin guy. I played in a Bluegrass band then and of course amplification was, and always been to some degree, a compromise. I hated the way my guitar sounded thru a PA and grew quickly disgusted at the futile and costly search for something that didn't sound like steel guitar. Finally, a luthier fabricated a transducer and glued it to the top of my D-28S near the bridge plate but bass side biased. Treble

Bought a new D18 today which looks retro, but is not. Still a very clean, attractive, great sounding guitar. Looks great sitting by my vintage Gibson.
