Glorious!
Story by Peter Quilter
Produced by Megan McGill
Directed by Patrick M. Doneghy
The joyful Florence Foster Jenkins had a passion for singing, but a voice of disastrous proportions which left audiences crying with laughter. Spinning from her bizarre recording sessions, unbelievable recitals and an ultimate triumph at New York's Carnegie Hall - this is a true, heart-warming story about a group of eccentric friends who lived their dreams.

I got to see both Studio's "Souvenir" and this production of "Glorious". Very different plays, as "Souvenir"'s dramatis personae are just FFJ and Cosme, while "Glorious" has 6 or 8 characters. I thoroughly enjoyed both.

I believe that you are referring to ""Souvenir: A Fantasia on the Life of Florence Foster Jenkins," which is the correct title. Glorious is a different play by a different writer, copyrighted and with royalties, which I am sure Dominion has paid.
It's acceptable practice for someone to write a work based on the life of a real person, who has already been covered by another work, without "stealing" from the other work.

This is an obvious steal of the award winning broadway play Fantasia, which Studio Theater won so many awards for last season. I guess they did not want to pay the royalties!
