not a fan of country, but I really like his use of equipment that isn't the "must-have country gear." He plays a telecaster, but he plays lots of other stuff too. A PRS, a strat, a les paul.
probably the most successfull guitar player of all time and some idiot is gonna say something stupid..bet ya Brent aint got time to get on you tube and worry about what some bumbass ignorant fool says about him
Just watched the entire DVD. Lots of great stuff here. A must have for anyone serious about guitar. Very casual and easy to watch. Like sitting in a room with Brent while he shows you what he does. Awesome. Hope to see more videos like this soon.
Huge DVD, people. Worth every penny. As one poster remarked, 85 pages of transcription will set you back at least $20.00 anyway, and the content is absolutely rock solid. Not a style breakdown, this is more about how to approach using your skills as a guitarist wisely in a studio.
There are mistakes in the tab, but it's still pretty tight. Dario Cortese, a great country player (and teacher - read his stuff in Guitar Techniques) did it, so you're in GREAT hands here!
MProMedia did such a fantastic job with the Dr. Z Video - so them doing a full length vid with my favorite guitar player makes this the best XMAS gift ever!
Got it today! Looks really cool. One thing I noticed is that you can't click right to the solos, you have to fast forward to them. Not a huge deal.
There is a ton of stuff on this DVD to dig into., alot of very classic Brent Mason guitar parts, some real cool musical stuff going on in this DVD. There are 85 pages of transcriptions in full notation and tablature that cover the 2 songs on the DVD. (85 PAGES!!!!). watching Brent play and have every single guitar part tabbed out is invaluable!
@yagamei You and me and thousands of others dude, I CANT WAIT! And how good is it to see Brent using a PRS DGT on this video, I'm assuming it was a DGT, great axe. Cannot wait to witness the class and great tone of this man on the new dvd!!!
As I sit here watching this preview, I have a yellow and pink-coloured DVD box sitting on my music stand to my immediate left called "Nashville Chops and Western Swing Guitar". I'm BEYOND excited that I will be able to add another awesome Brent Mason DVD to my shelf now!
I think I need to buy a DVD soon...
