@Border717 If you spend long hours every day moving 10 inches at a time in a traffic jam you should get automatic. If you actually like driving, it just kills the experience. First you should understand how a clutch transfers power from the engine. Youtube videos explain this and maybe your parents can as well. It's easier to practice knowing what that pedal does in the first place. Or just get someone experienced to show you what to do in a street car.

I think you're right. One of his other videos from the helmet was definitely Sebring judging by his hands and gearing.
-
@blindcamel Dose that tack any dead zone out of the hydrolic system then ?
-
I wanna learn manual because both my parents drive manual and I've heard they're more fun than automatic. I've driven an automatic before and it's very easy. And your definitely right, it's hard to find a manual car for sale in the states, which sucks. Manual cars force you to pay attention when you are driving because you have to listen to the engine to know when to shift. That would help to reduce the number of accidents we have annually.

@Border717 driving a race car is something else than driving a ford sedan. don't watch foot cams from race cars because that driving technique will destroy your transmission within a minute. here in germany 70% of the cars a stick shifter so i know what i'm talking about. btw: why do you want to learn stick if like 99% of american cars are automatics ?

Can somebody explain why race cars don't use the clutch when accelerating? I can hear the car shifting but I don't see it? I'm trying to learn manual before I even drive a manual and all I can find on YouTube is foot cams for race cars. Btw I'm 15 and until I get back to the states I can't legally drive :(

@sotaros93 He's tapping the brake to make sure it has pressure before hitting the braking zone.
-
why does he press the brake like that in 1:07 ?
-
@revspyd the clutching is just to not damage the gearbox, he is blipping the throttle when downshifting to prevent wheel lockup, if you just use the clutch to prevent wheel lockup it will just do the same thing as banging in a lower gear basicly
-
@rangerram1 Definitely Sebring, nice job figuring that out
@StRyKeR1987 it has shiftcut on upshift. so the ECU cuts the ignition for a millisekend it takes the load of the gearbox so it can get in the next gear.. downshifting he uses the clutch to prevent the rears locking up every time he goes a gear lower..

Assuming the vid started at T17, steering inputs and braking almost seems like it could be at Sebring
