@TheShadowwolf88 Yes, I'm sure the current situation could well have been so very different, here, but the same could be said of Europe and elsewhere, if only one or two events in history concluded even slightly differently; Thats why history is so interesting I think! The only problem with history though, is that a lot of it is changed to suit the writers of it. Whoever thought political 'spin' was a modern concept has clearly not read history! lol.

@ianww8 The danish invasion and more or less conquest of England durinf the Viking age that slowed english ambitions down! And if the norwegians many centuries later had succeded against against Harold or had shown up just after the normans England would have been too weak to even resist both the welsh and scottish then the fight for british supremacy might have been between Scotland and Cymru and possibly Eire as well with England being that area being passed as a warprice between them!
