The oil and filter were donated. This engine came out of a running pickup that was upgraded to a big block....If I remember correctly. It blew up that fast, so obviously it was not in good shape. There was even a throttle stop to keep it from running wide open or even near it.
I should have done that to my 84 Cavalier 2.0. Sonufabitch stalled in the middle of the freeway with 15 miles of cars backed up behind me. Did a nice 8000 rpm neutral drop once it started back up. Then a few months later lost power on another freeway. Was going about 30 when it did that, put in neutral put it to the floor and just sputtered at 500 rpm, after a minute it picked back up and reved to 8000 rpm then I neutral dropped it. Rod knock 2 years later. Traded for a new Baretta. Also a POS.

Not a durability contest, just entertainment.
