There's actually two boss fights. Now you ruined one of the big and best plot twists of the game. How do you feel?

Mario finally encounters the leader of the X-nauts, Sir Grodus. The leader of the X-nauts is a crafty and smart fellow, and you have to battle intelligently to take him down.
A) Multibounce is awesome. Without it, you don't have any efficient way to take out the Grodus-X's.
B) Soft Stomp is still awesome. Since Sir Grodus will usually have more than 1 defense, Soft Stomp will drop that down to 0 unless he has 3 Grodus-X's out.
C) Feeling Fine is nice to prevent some of the status aliment issues during the fight.
D) Prepare to feel pain if you put on Jumpman and Sir Grodus uses counter. Mario's Hammer is able to attack without any fear of counter.

After beating Sir Grodus, he positions Mario in a hostage situation. Basically, Sir Grodus had a plan C in case Mario got this far. If Mario attacks, Peach is done for; but if Mario doesn't attack, He'll continue to get blasted with thunder bolts.

Well, low-and-behold, our big plot twist. Bowser falls from the ceiling onto Sir Grodus. Remember that Bowser had a big vengeance against Mario, and was going to cream him the moment he saw him.

So starts the surprise second boss battle. It's a smart idea to have your experience above 70-or-so so you can get a level up after the Grodus battle. Otherwise, you could enter this boss fight with 1HP and die right away. The battle has Bowser, the brute who does a lot of damage, and Kammy who will support and heal Bowser.

Naturally, your video game instincts should kick in: "Kill the medic first."

On the bright side, this boss fight won't throw anything surprising your way. Kammy can make Bowser big or invisible, but won't affect Mario and his partner in any way. Bowser, however, can take one of your commands away. This is a case where if you had Jumpman or Hammerman on you could get gimped by this attack.
