Le Doubs river, located in NW Switzerland, creates a natural border between Switzerland and France. Portions of the river are dammed up creating meandering lakes, waterfalls and rapids with much of the river protected from development. I entered at Les Brenets (Swiss side).

I would have preferred entering at Lac des Brenets/Lac de Moron located a few km north above the water falls but the shoreline appears to be completely inaccessible, even by the hiking paths running along the ridge of the steep walls on either side of the river. I will continue to look for a way to hike in with my kayak since I'm using a folding Folbot "Cooper" kayak which can be collapsed into a bag with shoulder straps.

Production Notes:

Equipment:
A Nikon D7000 DSLR was used for the stills and video (1080p). All still images were shot in camera RAW, converted to .DNG and edited in Adobe Camera Raw. Kayak assembly sequence photos were done using the built-in intervelometer at :20sec. intervals.
Nikon 18-200mm VRI lens.

Audio:
SmartSound.com stock music edited in SonicFire Pro.
Audio from the DSLR video was removed. The kayak paddling sound was recorded separately with an iPod Touch 4G using Blue's "Fire" recording app. The iPod was tucked halfway in my float vest pocket.

Software:
15" Macbook Pro
Video was created using Apple Aperture.
Normally I would use FCP or Adobe Premiere but Aperture is great for quickly combining stills and video clips and syncing them to audio. This is the only thing I use Aperture for. The biggest drawback I faced in Aperture was not being able to edit and color correct the video clips to match the stills. Much of the video was poor quality due to protecting my DSLR in a moving kayak and forgoing the step to tweak exposure and focus in Manual mode using the LCD.
