  • i think she gave a powerful performance here

  • No, fortunately they did not got caught. but however their happiness did not last long, since they participated in a guerilla assault, where the man got shot, and she suffered a lot. Too bad, really, they were a beautiful couple! I liked both, his silent dignity and her fierceness, and I wished they had stayed together. (It had been better to let that bitch Ashton die, LOL!)

  • When i was 10 years i watched North & South series and i dont liked Virgilia because of her aggressive attitude, and I didnt understend her ideas and what she is fighting for.I download series(book1,2)few weeks ago,now i am 26 years old.Now i saw great strong character, women soldier of love and justice.I admire her,and last scene in prison when George came to say goodbay to her touch me deep.I respect womens with dignity, unfortunately i dont see much of that in these times.

  • He was married in real life with a white woman for 24 years.

I personally think that he was lovely and missed his character...

  • "This went on a whole lot more than people realize!"

  • @naturalmystic33 Well that's nice. But I'm getting a Southern Woman because they are the best. And don't you know that before the civil war in the south during that time their was southern white women and black men being intimate. I learned it from this book called White Women Black Men: illicit Sex in the Nineteenth-Century South. On amazon. Northern women are to materialistic for me but Southern belles are the best and they are done to earth.

  • i like virgilia

  • i love virgilia

  • @BatmanFanGirl someone because they were black. There needed to be a balance. She needed to realize that not every single person from the south was bad. At least not in this series. Real life back then? I'm sure there were some whites that lived in the south that didn't agree with slavery either. I think her problem was that your right, she was so obsessed with her cause you never really knew if she really loved Grady for being Grady or because he was forbidden.

  • @groam6666 I think the problem was although Virgilia's heart was in the right place, she was mentally unbalanced. So she took her passion to the extreme. Helping slaves escape great idea. I admire that. But she went SO over the top. If you were a southern she automatically hated you. It was clear in this series that there were a few southerns that did not agree with slavery at all. But she would have still hated them just because they were southern. That is no different then southerns hating

  • We all know she wanted to have sex with him because it was considered "wrong" during that time. She was a reverse racist.
