My vision was to be able to enjoy a little tortoise in our apartment while also maximizing space. This tortoise/coffee table turned out amazing, and truly serves the dual purpose it was intended for. UVB and basking lights are mounted under the coffee table top and wired into a timer. The entire interior is composed of mosaic tile walls and porcelain tile floors for a resilient yet beautiful landscape. The table itself was made from 3/4 inch birch veneered plywood, stained, and polyurethaned. Enjoy!

  • This is great! I was thinking this very thing, only with the table top being acrylic glass with air-holes.

  • Thanks! i think changing the top to being a clear acrylic would be cool. Only thing I see with that is the tort not getting enough air flow with just drilled holes. Unless you also leave an inch or two open on all side underneath or something. I'm actually getting rid of this masterpiece. The ex and I split and she took the tortoise..hahah. its yours if you are interested. thanks Scott
