I dont see you out there protesting lionel. I'm out there almost daily. Talking with people and getting beat by the cops. Your report isn't nothing more than playing it safe. you don't get it and you never will.
Well, good teachers don't claim credit when a former student grows up to move the earth. Lionel knows that he is just one person, so he moves his audience to act as well.
These cops and secret agenty type people are crazy (fact). Same way Howard Hughes worried about germs, these guys worry about terrorists.
Most people figure the best thing to go is just to keep the hell out of their way. Society learns by making mistakes, and sometimes letting people win is the best way of beating them. For instance if Hitler hadn't taken over Germany, the Nazis would have been a whole lot better off in the long run. Instead they got what they wanted, and it destroyed them.
@qmulus1 Not only pussified but stupified. Americans are seriously stupid people--on average--for a reason. If you were a shepherd would you prefer stupid sheep that do what they're told or smart sheep that find ways to be free?
I am suspicious of video clips of police beatings. How would anyone else know if the force was justified? Maybe this is what they believed it would take to neutralize the threat. What happened before the camera turned on? It always looks as if they were doing it without provocation.

Perhaps it would be a good idea to repeal the popular election of U S Senators. Senators used to be installed by each state's legislature.

No one taught me "or else". They taught me some variation of "or explain yourself, and they might change their minds."

Well, we are conditioned from early childhood to submit to authority.
Ages 3-5: Obey your parents or else.
Ages 6-12: Obey your parents or else. Obey your teachers or else.
Ages 12-17: Obey your parents or else. Obey your teachers or else. Obey the police or else. Obey the law or else.
Adults: Obey your boss/manager or else. OBEY THE LAW/POLICE OR ELSE...
Then we are shown what happens to people who do stand up to authority figures.
Is it any wonder that our citizens are pussified?
