New York City to San Jose, troops home now, troops home safe
Time for the crime to the king and his crown
Grant him a pardon, let him right out
Time for the crime to the king and his crown
Grant him a pardon, send in the clowns
Send in the clowns

Is Raine Maida his real name? Cause there's a line that says "and this is all the gold that was sold at the end of the rainbow", then I wikipedia'd Rhinemaidens and there's thing mentioning gold and rainbows

I dont see why you feel the need to over analyze this song, his whole album is incredible, just listen to it and if you love it you love it, if you dont you dont, no more needs to be said. Personally I'm in love with this.

the more i learn the less i know
-
Listening to it, I think it might actually be, 'The only frequent flier's the pilot', which makes sense, though I may not be right.
-
i think u guys are taking this to literaly it sounds more like him telling ppl that they think that there doing one thing but there really doing some thing else but thats me
-
i think you got it all right except i think it might be " the only frequent fliers are pilots" but like you i havnt been able to find them to confirm that
-

So I haven't been able to find the lyrics for the spoken word piece anywhere. I managed to put this together though, let me know what you think, if it's accurate:

I think that's really good, only with the "only frequent fliers and pilot", I think it's "the only frequent fliers are pilots", but that's just me. :D

Yeah now that you mention it, that is what it is! Clearly he is referring to the bodies of US soldiers coming back to the states in cargo jets. Not too subtle in this one! A great song though.
